Introduction:
A chicken casserole recipe that’s great. It is quick to prepare, very easy to make, and feeds a large family. Many families are so busy that they think they don’t have time to cook. It is also great to take to a get together and large dinners at church. I hope you enjoy my recipe on; making a great chicken casserole that’s great for those in a hurry.
Description
I have a great recipe for chicken casserole that doesn’t take much time to prepare and cook. When it is just about done it will fill the house with an aroma of creamy chicken. Once you take the large dish out of the oven it will be bubbling around the stuffing. Once you let it cool you can cut into it. The texture will be very creamy with chunks of chicken throughout. When you take a bite it will taste creamy and smooth with just a little crunch from the stuffing that just makes it worth the little extra time. It goes great with mashed potatoes, corn, and yeast rolls
Items Needed
First gather all the ingredients. You will need 3-4 lbs boneless skinless chicken breasts, 24 ounces of cream of chicken soup, 12 ounces of chicken broth, 6 ounces sour cream, and one package stovetop chicken stuffing. All of the ingredients should be easily found at your local grocery store. You will also need a large casserole dish and an oven.
Process
Once you have the ingredients. In a large pot bring water to a boil. Add the chicken, cover, and let cook for 30-40 minutes until chicken is white when cut open. Remove chicken from the water. Using a knife shred the chicken. Mix in the cream of chicken soup and sour cream. Top it with a layer of stuffing. Pour chicken broth over stuffing until slightly moist. Place in the oven and let it bake for 45 minutes. Take it out of the oven and let cool 5 minutes then serve.
Special Considerations
Be sure to wait on the oven to pre-heat or the stuffing will turn out soggy. It tastes a lot better when it is not soggy. Some ovens might take longer than others so cooking times may vary. The time may vary give or take 10 minutes. Wait for the stuffing to be a light brown and a little crispy. Do not serve when you first take out of oven because it will be bubbling hot.
Conclusion
That was my recipe for making a great chicken casserole. I hope you enjoy. It is quick to prepare, very easy to make, and feeds a large family. Since most families are always on the go they usually eat on the go, and fast food is one of the unhealthiest things to eat. It is good to sit around the table at dinner with your family. That is when you can take the time to catch up on what is going on in everyone’s life. It is also great to take to a get together and large dinners at church. Chicken casserole is great for those in a hurry.
