1. Since the patient has improved with conservative management, we will not consider operative intervention at this time.
2. Our latest project, remodeling the waiting room, is going to be more expensive than we had planned.
3. Past surgeries include hysterectomy, cholecystectomy, and appendectomy.
4. Surprisingly, the patient’s condition improved.
5. Laboratory tests to be ordered include a complete blood count, chemistry panel, and electrolytes.
6. The risks and benefits of the procedure were explained to the patient and his wife, and the patient signed the consent forms.
7. The planned surgery has a very high success rate; however, I explained to the patient that any surgery has an element of risk.

12. After the induction of general anesthesia, an endotracheal tube was placed.
13. The wound was then irrigated using normal saline, and the deep muscles were closed using chromic sutures.
14. The experimental drug studies were carried out in San Diego, California; Denver, Colorado; Minneapolis, Minnesota; and Atlanta, Georgia.
15. The patient is a young, female college student.
16. Patients with AIDS, who generally are underweight, should receive nutritional counseling.

18. Given the patient’s overall debilitated condition and end-stage lung disease; he wishes to be made a DNR.
