Original Text: PERSONAL ACHIEVEMENT STATEMENT
Growing up as a young boy was challenging, but I have always aspired to acquire a first class education and to be the best. In High School I was the 3rd best student in JSS1, I took the second position in Kingston Academy Mathematics competition (1998) and with exceptional performance I was the best graduating student in Book keeping. I was the social prefect and Editor-in-Chief of Press club (1997/98). At the University, I got the Ilapo Community Scholarship and the Premier scholarship award. I graduated from the University with a Second class upper in 2006, became a Chartered Economist in 2008 and obtained a Certificate in Business Accounting (CIMA UK) in 2009.In February, 2011 I became certified in information security technology fundamentals.
As a Financial Analyst in Baonif Investment, I reduced overhead cost by 22% and increased profit by 10% with this I was awarded the best in innovation and design. In Fidelity Bank I got the MD’s recommendation on Initiative and was the Product champion and target buster of Fidelity Bank’s save and fly promo in 2009. I exceed target by 200% and my overall performance rating is 75% minimum. I got a bronze medal in the 2010 youth idol award and currently a nominee of the 2010 Iris Project award.
In furtherance to this track record, I intend to contribute to the development of my school through academic excellence and dissertation of internationally high quality standard that will continually place my University on the cutting edge of research and foster economic growth. I believe with this scholarship this dream is unstoppable. It will be an investment in my career and will be expected of me to give back, pay forward and become an asset to myself, my school and future talent with similar dreams but low financial means.
