Original Text: Why Smoking Should Be Legal
Why Smoking Should Be Legal Smokers are losing their rights and there is nothing they can do about it . I believe we have just as many rights as a non smoker . We can't smoke in restaurants in Casino's and even Bar's or even smoke outside we cant even sit at a park outside, and now they are talking about banning smokers from smoking in there cars and homes .
I believe that sometime Down the line we will not be able to smoke at all . When I was 10 years old I had my first puff I thought it was cool back then now it calms my nerves everyone in my family smoked now everyone has stopped smoking except for myself and my mother and I will eventually stop smoking but I think I have the right to stop smoking when I get ready not when someone tells me to .
Banning smoking because you want clean air is like banning fish because you want clean water but the 300 million cars and the thousands of coal plants and then all the factories across the United States that generate more pollution and how can anyone tell us what we can put in our own body. Smoking has been around forever I'm sure are fore father use tobacco in some form. They have tried to get rid of drinking Liquor and that didn't happen and its bad for your liver and its still hasn't been banned or maybe that will be next on the government list to tell you not to drink alcohol or drink soda ,to eat fried chicken,
Smoking bans are in conflict with and in violation of our Fifth Amendment. They are also contrary to the basic principals of our Constitution. THIS IS NOT ABOUT HEALTH OR PROFIT MARGINS. This is about our "Right to Property", which is one of the basic principals upon which the Democratic Republic of the United States of America was based. The federal, state and local governments should not be (and should have never been) allowed to make us forfeit this very important human right.
Citizens are entitled to private property when they earn it...that means private businesses too! It is not the purpose of our government to pass ordinances to take this right away. Smoking bans are NOT about health. They are about removing basic rights, and are about greed and a control/power obsession promoted by extremist "health" interest groups.
Our Constitution, which was drafted with great foresight by our very astute forefathers, purposely did not itemize our rights but intentionally left these basic rights to be "self evident". Our government was not created to "ordinance" citizens into bureaucratic slavery, but only to prevent anarchy and to protect us. It was not formed to control our legal behavior every waking moment nor to usurp our right to choice. Free trade made this country. Leave it that way!
